French day- jour français
We learnt some French phrases, ate croissants and had the French flag painted on our face!

West Lane enjoy day out at Newcastle Falcons
Earlier this term, West Lane's rugby team won the "Wooden Spoon " tag rugby event at The Newcastle Falcon's rugby ground. As a rerward for their success they qualified to play during the half time interval of the Newcastle versus Bath Guiness Premiership match at Kingston Park. Although we lost [as did the Falcon's!] it was a great experience to play on the same pitch as the professionals in front of several thousand spectators! Year 3/4 investigate Bede's World
Last week Year 3 and 4 started off their new topic 'Pillage & Plunder' by going on a trip to Bede's world. We had a wonderful day exploring what life was like during Anglo Saxon times. In the morning we went to the monastery and we all dressed up as monks. We had to wear a habit and take a vow of silence, most of us were able to keep our vow!
