Y6JS are due to visit Thornley Woods on Tuesday, 31st October 2006.
The visit is part of the science topic about food chains, habitats and micro organisms. The children will take a walk through the woods identifying food chains and looking at how the rotting vegetation forms the soil in which the plants grow. The children are very excited and we will let you know how much they enjoy their trip.

I really enjoyed going to Thronley Woods especially when we had a treasure hunt. I saw two rabbits and lots of blue tits and I found lots of nuts. Sarah the warden told us all about the different layers in the soil.
