Maths investigations

In Y5/6 AT maths, we have been carrying out maths investigations that are related to our school.

Before half term Miss Taylor asked us to think of a question that we could investigate and that could help to make our school even better.

Everyone in the class thought of 4 questions and we picked the best one. Our question was ‘Who is your favourite author ?’ and some of the other questions were ‘What drinks would you like to have in your school lunch ?'

After that Miss Taylor split us in to 4 groups and we all went to different classes to see what the answer to our question would be. Our group went to Y5/6 PG and eventually we had our answer.

We noted down our answers in a tally chart and then we decided to use a bar chart to show our results.

After the half term Miss Taylor told us that we would use ICT to present our investigations to others. We used Microsoft PowerPoint to make slide shows of our investigations.

By putting some of the presentations on the school website, everyone will be able to see the work we have been doing in maths. Our maths investigation findings will also hopefully be used to make our school even better.

Lauren, Jessica I thought this blog about maths was great. It was excactly what we had done. I loved how you even told them the tiniest bit of information. Well done guys you really tried hard!!

I thought that Eliesha and Sunny's powerpoint presentation was very good at special effects and Elizabeth, Kaylea and Jake's was very good at speech and grammar.
