French Week - from Nursery to Y6 take a look at what we got up to.
Events and activities took place in individual classes with a lot of art activities, Miss Fothergill's class' collages were magnifique! What a super Eiffel Tower Reception !

We all enjoyed our French food tasting. We had something different everyday, pain au chocolate, croissants and french jam, brioche, baguettes and cheese, chocolate crepes - they were tres delicieux. Perhaps next time we will be ready for the frogs legs and snails!
On Monday Monsieur Treherne visited KS2 and taught us some traditional french songs and stories. We had great fun - especially the teachers.![]()
KS1 also had a visit from a French expert, Madame Barrett, she taught us some numbers and greetings, and we sang songs.
She told us the story of Les trois petit couchons (The three little pigs), which was super.
Everyone played Boules with Mr Innerdale, even Nursery joined in.![]()
KS2 children were introduced to their new friends in Marseille and replied to postcards they had received with their own postcards of the North East. I know the children in France are really looking forward to receiving the replies and it will be a great experience for our children. I am sure friendships will be developed over time and will provide a valuable insight into French culture.
Y5/6 had their own Tour de France - which included individual time trials, team trials and even a mountain trial. Well done to their teachers for organising the event everyone looked like they were having a great time.
French Club had a super time creating models of famous Paris Landmarks - can you guess which ones?

The french week was really good. We tried lots of new French food and lots of people enjoyed eating them.
On Monday we learned a French song because some people came to teach the French.
