Today Y5/6 received an unexpected visit from the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service. Paul and Lenny from the local Fire Service took time out of their busy schedule to give a talk about fire safety. Amongst other things they discussed the triangle of fire and ran through the procedures for staying safe in the event of a fire.
Below are some of the comments that Y5/6 made about what they had learnt during this talk.

Paul and Lenny were really good at telling the whole of Y5/6 about fires. They also the told us about fire plans you should make and phone numbers you need to ring.

I thought that Paul and Lenny were fab and they explained it really well. I learned loads of things and had great fun watching the videos. I learned how to ring the fire service and tell them what was happening and where I am.

I thought Paul and Lenny were really good at explaining how fire is really dangerous. I learnt lots of things about fires and fire safety. One thing I will always remember is the emergency call and how to tell them what is happening and where I am.
