Gumboot Dancing

We have just done some gumboot dancing. It was our reward for good behaviour this term. A man from Zimbabwe came to teach us how to dance. The dance was made up by miners in Africa so that they could talk to each other whilst they worked.

Read on to find out what some of the children thought about our special treat.

Isobel said: " I really enjoyed this afternoon and I have made up my own dance".

Ellis said: " I liked the bit when we sang 'In the Jungle' because me and my friends were dancing whilst we sang the song".

Sam said: "I liked it when we had to shout in African because it was very funny".
