Spring poetry

Today Year 5 made the most of the beautiful spring day by creating poetry inspired by their springtime surroundings.

They spent time outdoors and every child was encouraged to take a digital photo of a verdant symbol of the season.

These photographs were them used to create sensory and textural descriptions – fat, juicy bud, dancing daffodils, coconut white clouds.

In small groups the children then pooled their most interesting word choices together onto coloured paper-based tiles to create a kind of dynamic collage, which also allowed them to re-position and change their poems.

The chn the used some cool software called 'Wordle' to create vibrabt word clouds from thier poems.

Take a look as some of the finished results.
