Today Year 5/6 attended a Gamelan Music workshop at the Dryden Centre. Everyone enjoyed this new musical experience.

Gamelan is the name given to a group of percussion instruments from Indonesia which includes Bronze gongs and xylophones as well as a range of untuned percussion, such as shakers and drums.

Gamelan means to strike or hammer therefore it is no surprise that most Gamelan instruments produce a sound when hit with a beater or special pointed hammer.

The Gamelan workshop was great fun !
I liked learning about the different Indonesian instruments .
We got to play the Indonesian Gong , it was very loud .
The sequences we played were very calm and nice.
