Children in year 3/4 have been studying Indian fashion. We all liked the bright coloured patterns on the Saris and decided to make our own bright coloured patterned t-shirts by using a tie dye method.
We think they look fantastic, so much so, some of us even wore them on non-uniform day!
First we had to roll up our t-shirts and tie elastic bands around them. We explored different ways of tying our t-shirts to create different effects.

Then we had to put them in the coloured dye for 30 minutes and stir.

After that we carefully took them out of the die and took the elastic bands off.
We made our own washing lines outside the classroom to hang them up to dry.
