On a dark and stormy night, a group of art club members ventured out on a visit to the Shipley Art Gallery.
Some super Year 3 and 4 children headed to the gallery for a fantastic workshop with artist, Sharon. Children learned about what 'design' is and some key words associated with design; 'aesthetic', 'innovative' and 'long-lasting'. The children explored objects which had been made by recycled materials. They then went on a tour of the gallery (clipboards at hand!) to gather inspiration for their own innovative designs! They then went back to the workshop to make new 'useful' objects from junk materials such as sweet wrappers (eaten by the children!) and cereal packaging. We loved Ronan's 'No-need to clutch' Clutch bag and Lauren's even mini-er mini skirt!!
