Children and staff were delighted to welcome Gillian Cross, the acclaimed children's author, to our school on Monday. Best known for the Demon Headmaster series which was also televised, Gillian held workshops with many of the children from Key Stage 2.

Using role play and simple props, like a scarf or a pair of glasses, Gillian stimulated discussion and some excellent writing. Examples of the children's writing will be added to the website over the next few days, so keep your eye out for them appearing.
Check out some other photos of the day:
My daughter Amelia is so selfish and cruel. She is keeping me alive just so my power will flow through to her, so she can use it for her own evil purposes. She shrank Edward and that kind man who tried to save me from this miserable life. She claimed it was because he tried to kill me but that was actually what I wanted, instead of eating this disgusting food and lying on these pillows that smell of rotten fish.

My daughter Amelia is a spoilt, selfish little girl who loves herself and never gets on with anyone apart from her creep of a mother. She is a vile person who does not deserve to live. She is cold hearted, has no friends and never will. I can't believe she has done this to me, her own father - she has shrunk me and put me in a shoebox!

I really enjoyed meeting Gillian Cross when she came to my English classroom.
She inspired me to become a writer as that is what I would like to be when I grow up .
I also found out a lot of things when people in my class asked a lot of good questions .
One of the questions I asked was : Would you rather be a member of S.P.L.A.T or the Prefects. They are two groups in 'The Demon Headmaster' books.
Gillain said 'Splat' because they always plot against the headmaster.

I really enjoyed my English group's session with Gillian. She made up a horrible witch called Amelia.
