When the children of Reception came to school on Monday, they thought it was going to be just another ordinary day....Until Mrs Exley arrived carrying a GIGANTIC letter! It was from Mrs Giant from the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk!' Mrs Exley found the letter in the chicken coop!
Mrs. Giant wanted the childrens' help to find her missing coins, golden hen, musical harp and most importantly, her husband, Mr Giant.
The children were very concerned and wanted to help the giants. So they decided to put 'Lost Giant' posters up around school and arrows to help direct Mr. Giant back home.
They also wrote letters back to Mrs. Giant to let her know we were on a mission to help her and her husband.
Mrs Giant was so pleased with the children. She enjoyed reading all of their letters on the Giant chair next to the chicken coop.
Then on Wednesday, guess who showed up, knocking at Reception's door...Jack from 'Jack and the Beanstalk'! He was quite cheeky at first. He didn't seem to care that stealing was wrong and he had upset the poor giants.
But our lovely children talked to Jack about what is right and wrong and convinced him to return all of the things he had stolen!
This afternoon, another HUGE letter was found in the chicken coop by Mrs Ashby. The letter was from Mrs Giant for the Reception children. She wanted to thank them for all their help and to say that all of the stolen things had been returned! And another beanstalk had appeared in the garden! (Jack had to get some more beans to grow another beanstalk to reach the castle!)
Not only that, but her husband had found his way home. He was a little bit confused (The fall from the beanstalk had given him a nasty bump on the head you know!Poor man.)
Reception were delighted with the good news!!
